Softball
The City of Merced is taking registration for the fall adult softball program.
There are men's, women's, co-ed, co-ed incrediball, men's 35-and-over and a wood bat league.
The cost is $500 per team, with six teams per league. Games will be at Joe Herb Park.

Nando's men's and co-ed slowpitch softball can food drive tournament is set for August 23-24.
The entry fee is $130 for the team -- plus one can of food per player. For more information, call 722-5692.
Former Merced College softball coach Steve Cassady is available for hitting lessons to a limited number of serious local girls ages 8-18. To make arrangements, call 658-1659.
Golf
The Alpha Pregnancy Health Center will host a golf tournament on Sept. 19 at Stevinson Ranch.
Registration begins at noon. The shotgun start is set for 1:30 p.m. with an awards dinner and silent auction to follow at 6:30 p.m.
The coast is $150, which includes 18 holes, a cart, range balls and dinner.
