Editor: On Friday, an Amtrak train broke down outside of Merced. The passengers sat out there for more than an hour in the 100-plus heat waiting for news. Then the fire department and paramedics showed up. They walked through the train handing out water and making sure everyone was OK.
When it came time to be moved to buses, paramedics were right there to help the elderly across a ditch and into the bus. My family cannot say thank you enough for their kind and compassionate care toward everyone.
Please know how much that really meant to us to know our mother was in great care. Thank you and keep up the great work you do.
